Dr. Michael Chen

Dr. Michael Chen graduated with a "VMD" degree from the University of Pennsylvania (Penn Vet), one of the oldest medical schools in the US. Completing his residency in "Immunology and Dermatology" in New York, Dr. Chen is known for the testing methods he developed to distinguish between food allergies and environmental allergies. He points out that many dogs are wrongly diagnosed with "grain allergies" when the problem is actually other protein sources. On the PetSafeDB Advisory Board, he analyzes the "dermatological reaction" risks (hives, eczema, hair loss) of foods in the database and oversees hypoallergenic nutrition protocols.
